SRINAGAR: As part of ongoing Nationwide Sanitation campaign ‘Swachhta Pakwada’, Government College of Education (GCOE) M. A. Road today organised a Cycle Rally, here. The cycle rally was flagged-off by the Principal of the college, Professor (Dr.) Seema Naz.
As many as 21 cyclists of the college participated in the rally that started from the College campus and passed through Moulana Azad Road, Dalgate, Boulevard Road and culminated at Botanical Garden. All the participants showed immense interest and enthusiastically participated in the event.
On the way, the participants interacted with a few locals and non-local tourists to create awareness about the environment and significance of ‘Swachhata’ for Fit India mission and the event was overwhelmingly appreciated by them and they pledged to carry the message of Clean India – Fit India forward also.
The participants emphasized the role that each individual plays in contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment and encourage active participation in the Swachh Bharat Mission. On the occasion, Dr. Seema Naz said that the Physical Education Department of the college organized a cycle rally as part of the Swachhata Pakhwada, which is a fantastic way to promote cleanliness and sanitation while also encouraging eco-friendly transportation.
She said the cycle rally is a visible and engaging way to raise awareness about the importance of cleanliness and sanitation in the community. It is also a great way to involve students, faculty, and staff in the initiative, promoting a sense of ownership and responsibility towards maintaining a clean environment.
