JAMMU: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) in Jammu and Kashmir continues to demonstrate its commitment to shaping a brighter future for the UT through initiatives that promote physical activity, social responsibility, and national progress.

In alignment with the ongoing nationwide celebration of Swachhta Pakhwada, the YSS, J&K, has unveiled a dynamic 15-day activity calendar to mark the occasion, spanning from August 1st to August 15th. The initiative aims to instill a sense of cleanliness, responsibility, and community engagement among the youth of J&K and people in general.

Under the theme of Swachhta Pakhwada, a series of engaging activities have been organized by the YSS to raise awareness about the importance of cleanliness and environmental sustainability. These activities include cleanliness drives, tree plantations, awareness campaigns, and interactive sessions focused on promoting a cleaner and greener environment.

Speaking on the significance of the initiative, Director YSS Subhash C Chhibber stated, "Our goal is to empower the youth of J&K to become agents of change in their communities. By actively participating in Swachhta Pakhwada activities, we are nurturing a generation of individuals who are not only physically active but also socially conscious and committed to building a cleaner and healthier society."

The initiative aims to promote cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental awareness among students and staff in schools and offices across the Union Territory. Meanwhile YSS organized Swachhta Pakhwada activities in different sports zones of District Reasi and other districts of the UT on Tuesday.
