SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today interacted with the Officer Trainees of 2022 Batch of Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS), at Raj Bhawan. The Officer Trainees, led by Deputy ROC J&K, Sh Haamid Bukhari, shared the experience and learning from their visit to Jammu Kashmir, as a part of Domestic Study Tour.
They also briefed the Lt Governor on the functioning of the offices of Registrar of Companies (ROCs) and the dual mandate of ICLS in maintaining the Regulation, developmental role as well as effective enforcement of multiple corporate laws. The Lt Governor extended his best wishes and asked the probationers to work with honesty and dedication in regulating and enforcing corporate laws.
JAMMU: To expedite development, the DDC Chairman Jammu, Bharat Bhushan, led a meeting of the District Development Council, to review and approve the District Capex Budget 2024-25 for Jammu district. During this session, all previously pending components of the budget were finalised after making necessary modifications and incorporating inputs.
The meeting was attended by DDC Vice Chairman Suraj Singh, all other District Development Council members, ADDC Sher Singh, Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh, ACD Dr. Vikas Sharma, BDOs and other concerned sectoral/district officers.
The Council adopted two resolutions. The first resolution focussed on addressing the issue of encroachments along the Ranbir and Pratap Canals, mandating their immediate removal to restore the original flow and capacity of these waterways.
The second resolution called for comprehensive remodelling and other essential measures to ensure that irrigation water effectively reaches the most remote villages in Gajansoo Marh and RS Pura regions, addressing current deficiencies in water distribution to these areas.
Furthermore, the Council recognised the necessity of convening a meeting with the Commissioner Secretary Rural Development Department to conduct a thorough review and assessment of the achievements and performance of various departments within the district.
The meeting concluded with the approval of the District Development Council to the plan proposals of 2024-25, with slight changes in proposals under BDC and PRI components and underlined the need for enhanced coordination among various departments to ensure the timely and efficient execution of development projects, thus contributing to the overall growth and prosperity of the region.
JAMMU: Mission Shakti SANKALP - Hub for Empowerment of Women (HEW), under the Social Welfare Department J&K, organised an awareness camp at the Anganwadi Centre in Naseeb Nagar, Janipur.
The camp, held in association with Mission Poshan, focused on educating pregnant and lactating mothers about nutrition and the need for adequate rest before childbirth. The event was organised under the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Jammu, Mamta Rajput.
Dr. Nisha Dutt, a gynecologist, served as the resource person, highlighting essential elements for maintaining health during and after pregnancy. District Mission Coordinator, Mission Shakti, Shagun Manchanda, explained the objectives of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) Scheme, which provides direct benefit transfer (DBT) financial support to improve the health and nutrition of mothers and children.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from pregnant women and lactating mothers. Officials emphasized the importance of a balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and proteins. They also discussed the positive impact of PMMVY on the lives of pregnant women. Several beneficiaries shared their experiences, expressing gratitude for the support received through the scheme.
New beneficiaries were registered under the PMMVY and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana during the camp. Gender Specialist SANKALP HEW, Khushboo Kapte, provided information on several other schemes, including PMJAY, Health Insurance, and the importance of the Ayushman Bharat Card. The program concluded with the distribution of nutritional kits and baby kits to pregnant and lactating mothers.
RAMBAN: On the direction of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary and Labour Commissioner J&K, Charandeep Singh, a meeting with District Manager CSC, Nawaz Shrief and VLEs was held today under the chairmanship of Assistant Director Employment Ramban, Amit Kumar. Threadbare discussion was held on delivery of Government e-services being provided by the Labour and Employment Department at District Level.
The CSC District Manager was apprised about the 22 e-services being provided by the labour Department and 6 online services by JKBOCWWB which includes the Registration and renewal of Construction Workers, Education Assistance, death and funeral assistance, Chronic Disease assistance, disability assistance Marriage assistance assistance to workers and their kids and Maternity assistance to the female workers.
The Manager was requested to provide a hassle free environment to the worker class who are the most vulnerable less educated class of the society. They were told to check their documents well before uploading on the Portal to avoid unnecessary delay in processing of their applications at office level.
Besides this, the CSC District Manger was also told to direct their VLEs to ensure the Presence of at least 2 VLEs at ongoing Block level Awareness camps to be organized by the DE&CC in collaboration with Labour Department Ramban.
JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner, Sachin Kumar Vaishya chaired a meeting today to assess the arrangements for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations in the district. The meeting brought together senior officers including the Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Rahul Yadav, SSP Traffic Faisal Qureshi, ADC Ansuya Jamwal, Sub Divisional Magistrates, Executive Engineers and officers from the Police and other departments to ensure a seamless and memorable event.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the need for foolproof security arrangements for the national event. Officers from the Police Department provided updates on their preparations and traffic regulation plans were reviewed to ensure smooth flow during the celebrations.
Infrastructure and facilities were another focal point of the meeting. The Jammu Municipal Corporation was directed to provide adequate seating arrangements and barricading at the venue. The Jal Shakti Department was tasked with ensuring the availability of drinking water. Additionally, the Power Development Department and Jal Shakti Department were instructed to manage power and water supply, including the provision of water tankers.
Health and medical services were also discussed in detail. The Chief Medical Officer was asked to arrange medical facilities, staff and ambulances at the venue, with an emphasis on ensuring proper medical care facilities. The Deputy Commissioner urged all departments to work in close coordination to make the Independence Day celebrations a grand success.
