SRINAGAR: Ahead of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s visit to Inaugurate Chenab Bridge, the world's highest railway bridge and opening of Vande Bharat train service connecting Kashmir to Kanyakumari, on 06th June 2025, a preparatory meeting of Senior Administrative and Police Officials was chaired by the Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha at Srinagar, Raj Bhawan.
The meeting was attended by Shri Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary; Shri Nalin Prabhat, DGP J&K; Shri Anand Jain, ADGP Armed; Shri Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu; Shri Bhim Sen Tuti, IGP Jammu; Shri Vivek Gupta, IGP Railways; Shri M. Suleman Choudhary, IGP Traffic; Deputy Commissioners and SSPs of Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Reasi and Udhampur and senior officials of civil and police administration.
The Lieutenant Governor discussed various aspects of preparations and appealed to the people to participate in large numbers and make the launch event a memorable one. Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link, a 272-km mega project is India's most ambitious project connecting Kashmir valley with Kanyakumari. The Rail Link will ensure Year-round connectivity to the Valley.
Hon'ble Prime Minister will dedicate Chenab bridge, the world's highest railway bridge, to the nation. This engineering marvel is the highest railway arch bridge in the world at 359 meters. It is a symbol of resurgent India on the path to become a developed country by 2047.
JAMMU: Financial Commissioner Revenue, Shaleen Kabra, today launched online services of Central Record Room Jammu and Kashmir aiming at improving the public access to government programs and enhancing citizen services. These services have been integrated with the JK Revenue Portal and are part of a broader initiative to streamline government processes, reduce bureaucratic hurdles and provide more convenient, efficient access to essential services. These online services included access to important revenue-related documents which are available in the Central Record Rooms of Jammu and Srinagar.
The key benefits for the citizens of this initiative will be greater convenience to access services without needing to visit government offices i.e. Central Record Room Jammu and Srinagar in person. Besides, this will ensure reduced wait times, improved efficiency by submission of applications easily, faster responses, enhanced transparency and reduced paperwork.
The citizens can avail these services by visiting jkrevenue.nic.in via their computers, smart phones or tablets. The Revenue Department has affirmed its commitment to continually expand its digital offerings to meet the evolving needs of the public and further enhance government service delivery. The launch event was attended by Kanta Devi, Regional Director Survey and Land records Jammu and Dr.Tahir Firdous, Additional Commissioner with Financial Commissioner Revenue J&K.
AWANTIPORA: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo today conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing construction works at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Awantipora. During the visit, Minister Sakeena took detailed assessment of the pace and quality of the works being carried out at one of Kashmir's most significant healthcare infrastructure project.
During the inspection, the Minister interacted with engineers and other officers involved in the execution of the project. She expressed concern over reported delays and emphasized the need for expeditious completion of all pending works in strict adherence to the stipulated timeline. Minister Sakeena reiterated that AIIMS Awantipora is a flagship project that has the potential to transform the healthcare landscape of the region by bringing world-class facilities closer to the doorsteps of people.
“This is not just a building, it is a beacon of hope for advanced healthcare in Kashmir and beyond. Any delay in executing this vital project is a delay in delivering essential services to our people,” Sakeena stated. She urged the executing agencies to resolve bottlenecks swiftly and ensure round-the-clock efforts for timely completion of the project.
The Minister further directed the concerned executing agency to submit regular progress reports and ensure the project meets its scheduled deadlines without compromising on quality or safety standards. MLA Pampore, Justice (Retd.) Hasnain Masoodi; MLA Rajpora, Ghulam Mohi Uddin Mir; Directors of Health, Ayush and family Welfare, officers of executing agency, senior officers of district administration and other concerned officers also accompanied the Minister during the visit.
SRINAGAR: On the auspicious occasion of Jyeshtha Ashtami, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha paid obeisance to Mata Kheer Bhawani and prayed for peace and prosperity of J&K UT and well-being of one and all. During his visit to the holy shrine of Mata Kheer Bhawani at Tulmulla, Ganderbal, the Lieutenant Governor interacted with the devotees and extended his heartiest greetings on the auspicious occasion.
The Lieutenant Governor commended the District Administration, and all stakeholders for their coordinated efforts to ensure the smooth conduct of the Mela. Interacting with the media persons, the Lieutenant Governor reaffirmed the commitment of the J&K Administration to make the pilgrimage of the devotees of Mata Kheer Bhawani convenient, safe and hassle-free.
“Devotees in large numbers visited Mata Kheer Bhawani temple today and it's a good sign. I think after the heinous terror attack on April 22, it is for the first time that people in such large numbers have assembled at one particular place in Kashmir. May Mata Kheer Bhawani keep showering her blessings on the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The preparation is in full swing for the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. The construction work at Yatri Niwas is also going on. We have made all necessary arrangements. For the security of yatris, the authorities are on alert. I request pilgrims from across the country to come for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra,” the Lieutenant Governor said. The Lieutenant Governor also interacted with the devotees and members of Kashmiri Pandit Community and assured them of due consideration and appropriate redressal of the issues highlighted by them. He also reviewed the progress of Yatri Bhawan at Mata Kheer Bhawani temple.

PAMPORE: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo today conducted an extensive tour of the Pampore Constituency to take stock of functioning of vital public utilities like PHC Kakapora, SDH Pampore and Government Degree College (GDC) Pampore and also review the progress of ongoing developmental projects in the Constituency.
MLA Pampore, Justice (Retd.) Hasnain Masoodi; MLA Rajpora, Ghulam Mohi Uddin Mir; Directors of Social Welfare, School Education, Health, Colleges, Family Welfare and Ayush, senior officers of district administration and other concerned officers also accompanied the Minister during the visit. During her visit to PHC Kakapora, Minister Sakeena conducted detailed inspection of the infrastructure, staffing and availability of essential medical services at the hospital. She interacted with the healthcare staff and patients.
At PHC Kakapora, the Minister also reviewed the progress on ongoing works at under-construction building of the Primary Health Centre (PHC). She directed the executing agency to expedite the construction works and ensure timely completion of the facility within stipulated time frame. She also interacted with the general public and listened to their demands and grievances.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister reiterated the Government’s commitment to strengthening the health infrastructure across the Union Territory. She highlighted several welfare initiatives rolled out in recent months, including free bus service for women, enhancement in marriage assistance schemes and provision of free electricity units to AAY families, aimed at providing relief and support to the underprivileged sections of society.
The Minister later visited the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Pampore and inaugurated a Dialysis Unit, fulfilling a long-standing demand of the local populace. Speaking on the occasion, she emphasized that the facility will greatly benefit patients suffering from chronic kidney ailments, who previously had to travel long distances for dialysis treatment.
At Government Degree College (GDC) Pampore, Minister Sakeena took detailed inspection of the academic and infrastructural facilities of the institution. On the occasion, Minister Sakeena launched “Shakh-e-Zafran”, a biannual newsletter of the college, aimed at documenting academic and extracurricular achievements of college.
Later on, the Minister alsobconvened a high-level meeting with senior officers of district administration. During the meeting, Minister Sakeena reviewed the progress of flagship programmes and directed officials to ensure effective convergence of schemes, especially those under RDD and social welfare, with allied departments for maximum impact.
She also reviewed the progress of key sectors like Jal Shakti, R&B, Agriculture and other departments. While reviewing the progress of social welfare schemes in the district, Minister Sakeena directed officers to clear all pending applications cases of old age pension, widow pension and marriage assistance in a time-bound manner.
Stressing on infrastructural and aesthetic improvements, the Minister called for beautification of college premises, timely macadamization of college roads, strengthening of drainage systems, and swift completion of all under-construction projects of college. While reviewing the arrangements for upcoming Eid-ul-Azha festival, the Minister laid special emphasis on ration distribution, availability of essential medicines and sanitation drives along religious places, urging officials to ensure that all arrangements are in place for smooth celebration of this grand festival.
