Moderate snowfall in Gagngir Sonamarg

GANDERBAL/GAGNGIR: This world-famous resort and tourist destination sonamarg. including Kullan, Gagngir, Hayan recorded moderate snowfall tonight. Biting cold gripped Sonamarg after moderate to heavy snowfall in the higher reaches and rain in the plains over the past three days. Gagngir, the picturesque resort beyond Kullan, the higher reaches of Gund and Sonamarg were covered with a sheet of snow. As thick and heavy flakes of snow fell on tall trees covered in dense fog, one wonders whether nature has a design to hide this popular hill station from mortal approach. Since morning, hundreds of cars carrying tourists and locals could be seen rushing towards Gagngir and Kullan, heavy snow blocks roads and buries homes in mountains areas in Ganderbal, though authorities launched the snow clearance operation and sophisticated machines were pressed into service, a snow cutter machine clear snow during a heavy snowfall in Gagnigar in Sonamarg area.
