DODA: J&K Police district Doda organized a seminar on “Health is wealth” under Civic Action Program (CAP) for the year 2014-15, here today. Deputy Supdt. of Police, Hqrs. Doda, Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmed, during his introductory speech, laid emphasis on adopting annual medical examination, balanced diet and hygienic environmental conditions for a longer life and keeping the diseases at bay. Dr. Mohd Yaqoob, CMO Doda who was the chief guest on the occasion said that health is precious and in order to keep diseases at bay away, one needs to follow the simple formula of “Prevention is better than cure”. On the occasion, a number of resource persons delivered lectures and threadbare discussion was held on swine flu(HINI virus) and various preventive measures.
SAMBA: Deputy Commissioner, Samba Sheetal Nanda, alongwith Commandant 126- BSF Bn Hari Lal, Asstt. Commissioner (Rev), Sonu Pragal, Sub Divisional Magistrate Vijaypur Rajneesh Gupta and other officers visited areas viz Kamore forward post, bund, ditch and nursery post to review the damage caused to BSF Posts and civilian property and live stock due to last year’s floods. Deputy Commissioner, Samba also visited village Barota, Kamore and Kamore camp to redress the grievances of the inhabitants, and gave on spot directions to all revenue officers to closely monitor the situation and take immediate measures to ensure safety and provide required help to the villagers living close to International Border.
JAMMU: Ms. Rani Blowria, MLC, called on Mr. N.N. Vohra, Governor, here at the Raj Bhavan today. Ms. Blowria discussed with the Governor several issues relating to the future growth and development of the State and particularly brought up a number of problems relating to the promotion of welfare of women and children.
