REASI: A Dogri Play “Jailey de Qaidi” was staged by Sangan Theatre Group, Reasi at the ongoing District Drama festival organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and languages here at NHPC Auditorium, Jyoripuram. On this occasion Assistant Revenue Attorney Officer Suresh Kumar was the Chief Guest. The play was written by Rajnesh Gupta and Directed by veteran and renowned theatre Director M. Akram Khan with the Co-Direction of R. K. Narang.
The Story of the Play” JAILEY DE QUAIDI” moves around two main characters namely Ghara and Rupa hailing from hilly rural area. Their story depicts the exploitation of a pahari girl and a mentally retarded young man. The girl is the daughter-in –law of a rich family in the city where the young boy namely GHARA is the servant and is employed in the shop of that rich family.
Those who acted in different roles included. Rajinder Kumar as Ghara, Barkha Thakur as Rupa, Rafit Yasmeen as Maa, Anoop as Aadmi-1, Rashad Khan as Adami-2, Rekha as Dulhan, Vijay as Husband. The Music was given by Romesh Parwana and Purnima Sharma, Set design by Anam Khan, Make-up by Parveen Akhtar, Costume by Raja Sohail, Lights by sham & Tara Chand, Photography by Aadil, Property by Rashad Khan
On the occasion chief guest appreciated J&K Academy of Art, Culture and languages for organizing such types of festival, particularly at the district level. He also appreciated the performance of Artist who did full justice to their roles with their remarkable acting. The play was highly liked by the audience and cheered at every scene during the play as the artists ably portrayed their character. Later, Dr Sudhir Mahajan, Senior Drama Instructor of J&K Academy presented the vote of thanks.
