JAMMU: NSS campus Units, the Office of the Programme Co-ordinator, NSS in collaboration with and the Office of the Dean Students Welfare, University of Jammu organized the pledge ceremony Programme in which more than 150 NSS volunteers of the University of Jammu, along with the NSS Programme Officers, participated.
The flagship mass awareness campaign against drugs “Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan” was launched on 15th August, 2020. Since then NMBA has expanded to all districts of the country. This campaign has been able to sensitise and educate many people including youth, women and volunteers. This year NMBA has entered its 5th year on 5th August, 2024 and is being celebrated under the theme “Viksit Bharat Ka mantra, Bharat ho Nashe se Swatantra”.
Prof Prakash C. Antahal, Dean Students Welfare was the Chief Guest during the ceremony. His presence motivated the NSS volunteers to come forward and fight to make our country drugs free. Dr. Hema Gandotra, NSS Programme Co-ordinator made the NSS volunteers to recite the pledge both in Hindi and English Language. Dr. Shallu Sehgal, Dr. Skarma, Dr. Monika Bhardwaj, Dr. Rajbir Singh, Dr. Vimal Kishore , NSS programme officers of different campus units, Dr. Pritam Singh, Associate Dean, Mr. Sumit Sharma, Drama Instructor, along with other staff members and teachers also participated in the programme.
