BARAMULLA: The District Administration Baramulla, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Minga Sherpa, launched the Mission Yuva Awareness Campaign with the theme Udyam Jagriti (Awakening Enterprises) at a grand event in Sangrama today. This initiative, aligned with the vision of “Yuva Sapne, Nayi Ummedein” (Youth Dreams, New Hopes), aims to empower unemployed and underemployed youth by transforming them into job creators through entrepreneurship.
The event commenced with a detailed PowerPoint presentation by the Counselor Career Officer (CCO) of the Employment Department, who explained the scheme’s objectives and benefits to the participants. To ensure seamless registration under the scheme, ADC Baramulla, Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina, demonstrated the step-by-step registration process. Raina also urged participants to spread awareness about the scheme within their communities and to actively cooperate with enumerators during the upcoming baseline survey.
DC Minga Sherpa, in his keynote address, highlighted the significance of Mission Yuva in fostering an entrepreneurial culture among the youth of Baramulla. “This scheme focuses on identifying and supporting unemployed and underemployed individuals, offering them capacity-building programs, financial support, and training to ensure self-reliance. Our vision is to transform job seekers into job providers,” he remarked.
A baseline survey is set to begin soon, with trained enumerators collecting data to identify potential beneficiaries. The initiative also promises smooth financial assistance and capacity-building workshops to equip youth with the skills necessary to establish successful enterprises. A registration counter for Mission Yuva was set up at the venue, attracting 95 youths who registered for the initiative. The counter provided an opportunity for young individuals to sign up and participate in the mission, aimed at empowering youth and fostering development in the community.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth, and other stakeholders, all of whom pledged their support for the campaign. DC Sherpa called on everyone to collaborate and contribute to the success of Mission Yuva, ensuring its impact reaches every corner of the district.
