Write a tribute at AWANTIPORA: Police in Awantipora received a complaint on 28/06/2026, regarding the theft of gold ornaments worth approximately ₹12 lakh from the residence of Muzzafar Ahmad Mohand son of Late Gh Ahmad resident of Sheerabad Bulli, Tral. In this connection, FIR No. 80/2026 was registered at Police Station Tral, and investigation was taken up.
During the course of investigation, all available evidence, including technical inputs, was meticulously analysed. Sustained investigative efforts by the police team headed by SHO Police Station Tral, Inspector Tajamul Islam, led to the apprehension of two accused persons, namely Sajad Ahmad Mochi son of Noor Mohammad resident of Larkipora Padgampora, presently residing at Shaheed Park, Pulwama, and Amir Rashid Ganaie son of Abdul Rashid Ganaie resident of Khulbagh Batagund.
On their disclosure, stolen gold ornaments worth approximately ₹4 lakh have been recovered so far. Further investigation is underway, and additional recoveries and arrests are expected.
