PAMPORE: The Department of Economics, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), under the Industrial Connect Vertical of Dean Outreach, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), organised an Entrepreneurship Orientation Programme for Economics students at JKEDI, Pampore.

The programme familiarised students with the entrepreneurship ecosystem, startup landscape, institutional support mechanisms and emerging opportunities, encouraging them to explore entrepreneurship as a viable career pathway and gain practical insights into developing innovative ideas into sustainable ventures.

The session was followed by a Business Simulation Exercise, providing hands-on exposure to business decision-making, resource allocation, problem-solving, innovation and the practical dynamics of running an enterprise in a simulated environment.

The programme was organised under the guidance of Dr. Irfan Sofi, Head Department of Economics and coordinated by faculty members of the department including Dr. Shumila Chesti, Department Industry Connect Coordinator
