SHOPIAN: Under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative, the Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women (SHEW), Mission Shakti, Shopian organised a distribution programme at Government Primary School, Agapathri, with the objective of encouraging education, promoting the well-being of girl children, and supporting their continued participation in school.
During the programme, school bags and educational kits were distributed among the students to support their educational requirements and encourage regular attendance and active participation in learning. The initiative aimed to create a supportive environment in which every child, particularly girls, is provided with equal opportunities to pursue education and realise her full potential.
On the occasion, the officials and representatives of the Sankalp Hub sensitised the students about the core objectives of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, emphasising the importance of girls’ education, safety, dignity, equal opportunities, and empowerment.
The programme concluded with an appeal to parents, teachers, and community members to work collectively towards promoting girls’ education and creating an inclusive and supportive environment for every girl child. The initiative reaffirmed the commitment of Mission Shakti Shopian towards strengthening awareness, education, and empowerment of girls in the district.
