RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a meeting to review and finalize arrangements for the Shri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations across the district.
The meeting was attended by SSP Arun Gupta; Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak; ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo; senior officers of various departments, prominent citizens and religious leaders. SDMs and Tehsildars participated in the meeting virtually.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to make comprehensive arrangements for smooth, safe and hassle-free celebrations. He laid special emphasis on security, sanitation, traffic management and provision of essential public amenities, particularly along the routes of Shri Krishna Shoba Yatra in Ramban and other places across the district.
The DC directed the Traffic Police to formulate an effective traffic regulation plan for smooth vehicular movement in Ramban town and along the Shoba yatra routes. The Municipal Committees were directed to maintain cleanliness and lighting around temples and other places associated with the celebrations. He also directed the Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti, to ensure adequate water supply and the Executive Engineer, JPDCL, to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the celebrations.
The AD FCS&CA, Tehsildars, Food Safety Officer, officers of Municipal Committees and other concerned departments were directed to conduct joint market inspections to check the quality and availability of food items and other essential commodities during the festival.
The CMO was directed to deploy ambulances along with medical teams on the Shoba Yatra routes to ensure prompt medical assistance in case of any emergency. The DC also directed the concerned departments to ensure adequate arrangements for drinking water, fire and emergency services and other essential facilities.
SSP Arun Gupta suggested various measures for strengthening security arrangements at temples, along the Shoba Yatra routes and at other locations witnessing public gatherings. He also asked the religious organizations and temple management committees to install CCTV cameras for strengthening security and monitoring of the areas. The Dy. SP Traffic briefed the meeting about the proposed traffic regulation and diversion plan to facilitate smooth movement of devotees and vehicles.
The SDMs and Tehsildars were directed to ensure similar arrangements in their respective jurisdictions and maintain close coordination with all concerned stakeholders for the successful conduct of the celebrations.
