KATRA: A one-week-long Entrepreneurial Skill Development Program successfully completed at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Kakryal, Katra. The program has covered topics including entrepreneurship, business idea development, case study analysis, development of business model canvas, success stories of entrepreneurs, interaction with successful entrepreneurs, marketing practices by small units, etc.
In this exalted program, every day four sessions were conducted. On the last day of the event, factory visits to three units were made to provide hands-on experience to the participating students. The units that facilitated the visits include Sarveshwar Foods, Satyam Cattle Feed, and Vaishno Flour Mill. This PM-USHA scheme-sponsored program, organised by Entrepreneurship Development Cell, SMVDU, hosted various resource persons from academia and industry, including Prof. Mahesh Gadekar of IIM Jammu, Dr. Vivek Sharma, CIO and Incubatees at IIM Jammu,
Sh.Sat Pal Abroal, Director of Pahalwan Foods, Prof. Jabir Ali, Professor of IIM Jammu, Mr. Naveed Bhat, CEO, SKUAST-K along with other entrepreneurs like Amit Pandotra, Mr. Bhaskar Suri, Mr. Abhinav, Mr. Sujat Mahajan etc. Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, appreciated the design of the program and conveyed their best wishes to the participating students.
The students of MBA program, BBA, B.Tech, and other disciplines participated in the program to hone their skills in domains like business plan formulation, idea generation, entrepreneurial traits/competencies,marketingskills, etc . Apart from external experts faculty members of the School of Business including Prof. Ashutosh Vashishtha, Prof. Supran K. Sharma, Dr. Rashi Taggar, Dr. Deepak Jain, Dr. Shazia Bukhari, Dr. Sanjay Mohan have taken training sessions in the program.
