SRINAGAR: Police have organized an awareness programme on the New Criminal Laws in Budgam and Sopore. In Budgam, the officers from Budgam Police highlighted the role and importance of new criminal laws among the participants who came from different areas of the district. Similarly, in Sopore, an awareness session on the new criminal laws was organised for students at New Era Academy Tarzoo.
The events witnessed significant participation from educationists, prominent individuals and students. They were given a basic awareness of the New Criminal Laws followed by interactive discussions to enhance the practical knowledge of the laws.
The new laws include provisions that ensure justice for the victims of crime and the society at large. Modernization of the investigation process through the use of technology has been included and the new laws also sets timelines for trials. A question-and-answer session was also held, where students posed questions and received guidance from the experts. The participants appreciated the role of J&K Police in organising such awareness programmes.
