RAMBAN: Under the overall supervision of the District Social Welfare Officer, Ramban, Rahul Gupta, the Department of Social Welfare, Ramban, has stepped up efforts to combat drug abuse by engaging the youth in sports and awareness programs. This initiative targets the peripheral zones of the district, aiming to educate young people about the dangers of drug addiction.

A recent event moderated by Karan Singh of the One Stop Centre (OSC) Women Ramban, with support from local youths of Panchayat Pernote, attracted nearly 100 participants. The event focused on building community unity through sports while providing crucial information on resisting drug use.

The Department of Social Welfare plans to extend similar events across Ramban, aligning with the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, which aims to reduce drug addiction in both rural and urban areas.
