GANDERBAL: Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board (MoS), today visited Rayil Gund in Ganderbal where she paid homage at the revered Sufi shrine of Syed Jaffar (RA). The J&K Waqf Board assumed administrative and management control of the shrine following the completion of all legal formalities, responding to public demand.
Dr Andrabi was warmly received at a public reception and addressed the gathered locals as the Chief Guest. Emphasizing her commitment to development, she assured that the Dargah at Rayil Gund would soon see enhanced facilities for devotees. "Our developmental initiatives are meticulously planned and executed transparently, meeting site-specific needs within stipulated timelines," Dr Darakhshan remarked.
Highlighting recent strides in revitalizing spiritual centers across the Union Territory, Dr Andrabi underscored the resurgence of Sufi shrines, long obscured in Jammu and Kashmir. "Our spiritual saints are timeless guides of our heritage, and their teachings enrich our lives spiritually," she added.
Accompanying Dr Andrabi were Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, Executive Magistrate of Waqf Board, and Executive Engineer Tariq Kaloo, underscoring collaborative efforts towards these transformative initiatives.
