SRINAGAR: Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, Shri V.K Birdi-IPS, conducted a thorough inspection of police stations in the Srinagar district, focusing on the implementation of new criminal laws such as the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Evidence Act.
During his visit, IGP V.K Birdi engaged with officers and staff across multiple stations, stressing the importance of upholding high standards in law enforcement to ensure public safety and security.
The inspection also included an assessment of the integration status of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) and other digital applications. Expressing satisfaction with the dedication shown by police personnel, Shri V.K Birdi reaffirmed the commitment of the Jammu and Kashmir Police to uphold the rule of law and ensure justice for all citizens.
It is noteworthy that the first FIR in the Kashmir Zone under Section 125(a) and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 was registered at Police Station Bijbehara, Anantnag, marked as FIR No. 143/2024.
