JAMMU: Government Degree College Marh organized maiden MISSION YUVA: Yuva Udyami  Vikas Abhiyan, a new initiative introduced by J&K government to provide employment opportunities to the youth of  the Union Territory  for the students of all the semesters. Mission YUVA has objective of creating various employment opportunities through entrepreneurship. The whole programme was conducted under the mentorship of the principal of the college Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul who  motivated the students to become self employed to enhance the culture of job givers instead of job seekers.

The chief Guest for the programme was Pawan Kumar Parihar Special Secretary, Labour and Employment Department  who gave the overview of Mission YUVA, its mission, vision, present population of states and employment scenario/landscape of the entrepreneurship, programme targets, Government Structure, Overarching Strategy, 4C,key interventions, Implementation roadmap, nano loan facilities and establishing J&K as thriving hub of enterprises and employment by fostering equity and dignity income and unlocking its inherent potentials to transit towards prosperity.

The Nodal Officer Mission YUVA Dr. Vishal Sharma Higher Education Department was the guest of honour who threw light on the importance of this mission for enhancing capacity, capital and connectivity of the youth through different entrepreneurs for the holistic growth of the J&K UT. The chief guest and guest of honour were presented mementos as a token of souvenir.

The programme was coordinated by the cultural committee of the college headed by Dr. Ashu Jolly, Dr. Sheetal Sharma and the nodal officer of YUVA club of the college Dr. Shakun Sharma. The programme was anchored by Associate Proffesor Madhvi Prashar (HOD Botany) and the vote of thanks was given by Dr. Priya Sharma (HOD Economics).

The college faculty, Prof. Anita kumari, Prof Imtiaz, Dr. Ram Dayal, Dr. Rahul Sharma,  Prof. Anjana Chib, Dr. Balwinder Saini, Prof. Sachin Kumar, Dr. Sheetal Devi, Prof Surbhi, Ravi Kumar, Dr. Shiksha Rani, Dr. Ruchika Kumari, Gurleen Kour, Dr. Mohd. Younus Bhat, Nadeem Frooq Abbasi  along with the students of the college/ school attended the programme.

The guests visited various departments and were exposed to the research and latest equipments and latest developed infrastructure like fully functional college canteen, automation of library etc. A plantation drive was also observed for creating a memorable touch to the whole programme.
