JAMMU: Mission Director Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project in J&K (JKCIP) Rahul Yadav today conducted a comprehensive review of three crucial HADP projects here at a meeting held in the Conference Hall, Directorate of Agriculture, Krishi Bhawan.
The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including the project grounding and monitoring committees of the respective projects, besides Director Agriculture Jammu, Director Horticulture Jammu/Kashmir, Director Animal Husbandry Jammu/Kashmir, Director Sheep Husbandry Jammu/Kashmir, and representatives from SKUAST Jammu and SKUAST Kashmir. Officers from Jammu also participated virtually.
The projects under review were selected for their multi-stakeholder involvement and regional importance. These include Rainfed Area Development (RAD) P15, Promotion of Floriculture P14 and Fodder Development in J&K P28. The Mission Director focused on assessing the performance of each project, particularly the need to expedite the establishment of the centres for project activities.
Elaborating the objectives of the Rainfed Area Development project, Mr. Yadav stressed the importance of interventions specifically designed to enhance rainfed areas. He directed that future presentations must clearly reflect these targeted activities. He also reviewed the expenditure and implementation of various activities under the project to ensure their timely execution.
The Floriculture project under HADP was also reviewed thoroughly. The Mission Director highlighted the importance of accelerating progress in this area and emphasized the need for strategic planning to meet project targets.
On the Fodder Development project, Mr. Yadav underscored the significance of inter-departmental collaboration and urged all stakeholders to work closely and provide a prioritized action plan for effective implementation. He also directed that the expenditure be reviewed and improvements be suggested to further enhance the implementation process.
Concluding the meeting, the Mission Director reaffirmed the commitment of the HADP to expedite project activities and ensure effective collaboration between all stakeholders. He stressed the need to overcome challenges through coordinated efforts and achieve the overarching objectives of the HADP in enhancing the agricultural and allied sectors in Jammu and Kashmir.
