JAMMU: The Managing Director of Parmeshwari Care and Cure Charitable Trust, Prof. (Dr.) Kulbhushan Mohtra, alongwith Member of the Trust, Er. Dil Bahadur Singh Jamwal, while continuing with their mission of covering more and more areas and people, chaired an impressive and colourful function organised by a team of Dogra youth, under Surinder Singh Gilli, at Ban Talab, Jammu. A large number of youth were offered Dogra pagris in the function.
Prof. (Dr.) Kulbhushan Mohtra was the Chief Guest and Er. Dil Bahadur Singh was Guest of Honour in this function. Prof. (Dr.) Kulbhushan Mohtra, on this occasion, said that Parmeshwari Care and Cure Charitable Trust, had launched the mission of promoting Dogra Culture a few months ago and a number of programmes were organised in different parts of Jammu during the past few months. The public response in these programmes has been very encouraging, which has given a boost and strength to us to work, he said.
Prof. Mohtra said that during the ongoing programmes, the local people are offered Dogra pagri and they are requested to adopt Dogra dress and Dogra meals in their day to day life. They are also asked to convince others to follow Dogra culture. He said that a society which fails to preserves its culture cannot progress.
He further said that the youth can play important role in educating the people about the rich Dogra culture and should come forward to contribute in its promotion and preservation. Er. Dil Bahadur Singh Jamwal said that being born as Dogra is a pride and each one of us should take the pledge to work for promotion of Dogra culture. He said that using Dogra dress, preparing Dogra meals and speaking Dogri should become part of our life.
Surinder Singh Gilli expressed views that the young generation can remain connected to their roots by giving place to their own culture in their lives. Prominent among those who were offered Dogra Pagris in the function included Dharminder Singh Manhas, Ex. Sarpanch, Randhir Singh, Dogri poet, Pardeep Singh, Manjeet Singh, Sudhir Singh Jamwal, Gandhi Singh, Baldev Singh and others.
