JAMMU: The Synergetic Green Warriors Foundation (SGWF) recently organized a mega plantation drive at Badyal Kajian, R.S. Pura as part of their "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" initiative. The campaign, aimed at honoring mothers and promoting environmental conservation, saw active participation from key members of the foundation and the local community.

Dr. Sonia Verma, Director/CEO of SGWF, Mrs. Reeta Verma, National President, and Mr. Sandeep Sharma, Treasurer of the NGO, led the event, demonstrating their commitment to ecological preservation and community welfare. The drive witnessed the enthusiastic involvement of numerous locals who came together to plant trees, symbolizing growth, care, and sustainability.

 Over 300 saplings of diverse native species were planted during the drive, contributing to the biodiversity and ecological balance of the region. The event saw the active participation of local residents, school children, and volunteers who were educated about the importance of trees and how to care for them. An interactive sessions was conducted, highlighting the crucial role of trees in combating climate change, reducing air pollution, and maintaining soil health.

Dr. Sonia Verma expressed her gratitude towards the participants, stating, "This initiative is a tribute to mothers, who are the epitome of nurturing and selflessness. By planting trees, we are not only honoring them but also contributing to a greener and healthier environment for future generations. The overwhelming response from the community is truly heartening."

Mrs. Reeta Verma highlighted the importance of such drives in raising environmental awareness. She said, "Each tree planted today represents our collective effort to combat climate change and protect our planet. We are grateful for the support of the local community and encourage everyone to continue such efforts in their own capacities. The knowledge shared today will empower individuals to take proactive steps towards environmental conservation."

Mr. Sandeep Sharma emphasized the role of the community in the success of the initiative. "The participation of locals is crucial in making a significant impact. We are delighted to see the community come together for this noble cause and hope to see more such collaborations in the future. The trees planted today will stand as a testament to our collective commitment to safeguarding the environment."

Dr Verma informed that  SGWF plans to extend the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" initiative to other regions, with an aim to plant over 30,000 trees in the coming year. The foundation also intends to organize regular follow-up sessions to ensure the healthy growth of the planted saplings and to involve more communities in similar green initiatives.
