BHADERWAH: An awareness rally centred on the themes of drug-free living and communal harmony was held today in Bhaderwah. The event was a joint initiative of District Administration Doda, the Central Reserve Police Force, all line departments, Beoparmandal Bhaderwah, the Youth Action Committee Bhaderwah and local civil society bodies.
The rally was flagged off by Senior Superintendent of Police Doda, Kartik Shrotriya from the main gate of Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) Bhaderwah. Guests of honour included Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah, Sunil Kumar Bhutyal, Chief Education Officer Doda, Additional Superintendent of Police Bhaderwah, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Bhaderwah, Commanding Officer CRPF, Block Medical Officer Bhaderwah, Block Development Officer Bhaderwah and the Principal of Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) Bhaderwah.
Following the flag-off, participants marched through the town, chanting anti-drug slogans including "Say No to Drugs," conveying a strong message against substance abuse while reinforcing communal brotherhood. The rally culminated at Seri Bazar Park, where a large gathering of students and local citizens remained assembled despite sudden rain. The leadership of Beoparmandal Bhaderwah extended a traditional welcome to the chief guest and other dignitaries.
A highlight of the programme was the administration of the anti-drug and communal harmony pledge, read out by SSP Doda Kartik Shrotriya and repeated by the gathering. The event saw participation from all sections of society, including the Ex-Pradhan of Sanatan Dharam Bhaderwah, the President of Anjuman Islamia Bhaderwah, members of Beoparmandal Bhaderwah, ex-servicemen, NCC cadets and students from local schools and colleges.
The programme concluded with the organisers presenting a Token of Appreciation Certificate to SSP Doda Kartik Shrotriya in recognition of administrative support extended for the event.
