SRINAGAR: BJP Jammu & Kashmir State Secretary Pawan Sharma today expressed serious concern over the growing disconnect between the promises made by the National Conference government and the ground realities being faced by the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
Pawan Sharma stated that the people of Jammu & Kashmir voted with great expectations, hoping for responsive governance, accelerated development, employment opportunities, improved public services, and effective solutions to their day-to-day challenges. Unfortunately, the performance of the present NC government has fallen far short of these aspirations.
He observed that instead of focusing on governance, policy implementation, and public welfare, the government appears increasingly preoccupied with picnic politics, photo opportunities, and political optics. At a time when citizens are seeking answers on unemployment, infrastructure gaps, civic issues, power shortages, road connectivity, and pending development projects, the government seems more interested in organizing outings and creating media spectacles than delivering tangible results on the ground.
Sharma said that governance is not about picnics, photo sessions, and headline management, but about ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach every household, every village, and every deserving citizen. The people expect accountability, transparency, and efficient administration from an elected government.
The BJP leader emphasized that Jammu & Kashmir has witnessed unprecedented development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with significant investments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, connectivity, tourism, and welfare initiatives. The responsibility now lies with the elected government to effectively implement these initiatives and address the concerns of the people with sincerity and commitment.
Sharma further stated that the youth of Jammu & Kashmir deserve meaningful employment opportunities and skill development initiatives, farmers require support and market access, and citizens expect better civic amenities and public services. These issues demand serious attention rather than distractions through picnic politics and public relations exercises.
He urged the NC government to introspect and realign its priorities towards public welfare, development, and good governance. The people of Jammu & Kashmir deserve a government that works tirelessly to resolve their problems, fulfill its electoral commitments, and ensure inclusive growth across all regions.
Sharma reiterated that the Bharatiya Janata Party will continue to act as a responsible and constructive opposition, raising issues concerning the public and holding the government accountable for its promises and performance.
"The people elected the government to govern, not to indulge in picnic politics. Jammu & Kashmir needs decisive action, responsive administration, and visible results on the ground, not distractions from the responsibilities entrusted by the people," Sharma added.
