KUPWARA: A high-level delegation of the Private Schools Association (PSA), led by veteran educationist, NISA Joint Secretary and PSA Chief Patron G.N. Var, visited the residence of Late Gulshan Ahmad Bhat, Principal of Genius Public School, Kunan Poshpora, Kupwara, to offer heartfelt condolences and express solidarity with the bereaved family following his untimely demise after suffering a massive heart attack at the age of 40.
Late Gulshan Ahmad Bhat was a noble personality, dedicated educationist, visionary institution builder and distinguished social activist who devoted his life to the cause of education and public service. He was closely related to President of the Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Pensioners Association and Senior Citizens Welfare Society, Mohi-ud-Din Poshpori and SP Hazratbal Hilal Khaliq Bhat. The family enjoys immense respect across Jammu and Kashmir for its longstanding contributions to education, social welfare and public service. Widely admired for his humility, generosity and commitment to humanitarian causes, Gulshan Bhat earned a special place in the hearts of people across the Valley through his tireless efforts in education and community service.
The PSA delegation, led by Chief Patron G.N. Var, included PSA North Kashmir Coordinator Mushtaq Shaheen Bhat, District President Kupwara Tanveer Ahmad Lone, District Joint Secretary Bilal Rizwan Trehgami, District Organiser Altaf Ahmad Shah, District Treasurer Manzoor Ahmad Kumar, Chairman Iqbal Memorial School Drugmulla Reyaz Ahmad Baba, Chairman Little Birds Public School Diver Akhtar Salfi, Chairman Welfare School Sogam G.M. The delegation paid homage to the departed soul and conveyed their deepest sympathies to the bereaved family members. They described the untimely demise of Gulshan Ahmad Bhat as a profound loss not only for his family but also for the entire educational and social community of Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, PSA State President Bilal Ahmad Bhat and General Secretary (Organisation) Mohammad Syed Wani expressed deep grief and sorrow over the untimely demise of Gulshan Ahmad Bhat. In their condolence message, they described him as a dedicated educationist, compassionate social worker and highly respected member of the educational fraternity. They said that his invaluable services to education and society would always be remembered and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and the highest place for him in Jannat-ul-Firdous. They extended their heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty Allah grants them strength and patience to bear this irreparable loss.
Paying rich tributes to the deceased during the condolence gathering, PSA Chief Patron G.N. Var expressed profound grief and sorrow over his demise and termed his passing a devastating loss to the educational fraternity. He said that the news of Gulshan Ahmad Bhat's death sent shockwaves throughout the education sector and deeply saddened teachers, students, colleagues and well-wishers across the Valley.
Var recalled that Gulshan Ahmad Bhat was a man of exceptional character, unwavering commitment and remarkable dedication who always remained at the forefront of educational development and social service. He said that even shortly before his demise, he was actively engaged in the development and improvement of his school, reflecting his passion and commitment towards providing quality education to students.
He said, "Gulshan Sahib was not merely running a school; he was shaping young minds, nurturing future generations and contributing significantly to the educational advancement of society. His dedication, sincerity and hard work will always be remembered by the educational community."
Referring to his humanitarian contributions, G.N. Var stated that the late principal earned widespread admiration and respect as the "Blood Man of Kashmir" because of his extraordinary service to humanity. Throughout his life, he voluntarily donated nearly 40 pints of blood, helping save countless precious lives and bringing hope to numerous families during moments of distress.
Var further said that such a remarkable contribution cannot be measured merely in numbers because every pint of blood donated represented a life saved, a family comforted and a humanitarian act performed purely for the sake of helping others.
He said "What makes his contribution even more extraordinary is that he never sought publicity, recognition or appreciation for his charitable work. He quietly served humanity with sincerity and humility. Such selfless acts carry immense value in the eyes of Almighty Allah and leave behind a legacy that continues to inspire generations,".
G.N Var said that education is a sacred and noble mission and those who dedicate their lives to educating children and serving humanity occupy a special place in society. He prayed that Almighty Allah abundantly rewards the deceased for his remarkable contributions to education, social upliftment and humanitarian causes, forgives his shortcomings and grants him the highest ranks in Jannat-ul-Firdous.
The members of the delegation described Late Gulshan Ahmad Bhat as a humble, compassionate and visionary individual whose services transcended the boundaries of his profession. They said that his commitment to education, community welfare and humanitarian work had earned him immense respect and affection throughout the region.
The delegation also visited the residence of PSA Women Wing Incharge and Chairperson of Sadiq Memorial School, Silkote Kupwara, Ms. Tabassum Farooq, to offer condolences and express solidarity with the bereaved family on the demise of her beloved uncle. The delegation conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the family and prayed that Almighty Allah forgives the deceased's shortcomings, grants him the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous, illuminates his grave and bestows patience, strength and courage upon the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
On behalf of the Private Schools Association and the entire educational fraternity of Jammu and Kashmir, PSA Chief Patron G.N. Var extended heartfelt condolences to both bereaved families, particularly their close relatives and associates. He prayed for strength, courage and patience for both families to bear this irreparable loss.
The delegation collectively offered Fateh-e-Khawani and special prayers for the departed souls and prayed that Almighty Allah forgives their shortcomings, accepts their noble deeds, illuminates their graves, grants them the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and bestows patience and fortitude upon all those mourning their loss.
The participants unanimously observed that although Gulshan Ahmad Bhat is no longer among us physically, his legacy of educational excellence, humanitarian service, compassion and selfless sacrifice will continue to inspire generations of educators, students and social workers across Jammu and Kashmir.
