Devyani Rana welcomes sanction of 3.5 crore foot over bridge at Manwal Railway Station

• Expresses gratitude to Hon’ble Railway Minister

MANWAL: MLA Nagrota, Devyani Rana, has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Union Minister for Railways, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, for sanctioning the construction of a 3.0-meter wide Foot Over Bridge (FOB) at a cost of Rs. 3.5 crores at Manwal Railway Station on the Jammu Tawi–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (JAT–SVDK) railway section.

The project, which has been approved under the Capital Works Programme of the Railways, will significantly enhance passenger convenience, safety, and accessibility at Manwal Railway Station. The proposed Foot Over Bridge will provide a safe and efficient crossing facility for thousands of commuters, students, senior citizens, and local residents who use the station regularly.

Welcoming the decision, Devyani Rana stated that the sanction of the FOB is a major step towards strengthening railway infrastructure in the Nagrota Assembly Constituency and reflects the Government of India's commitment to improving public amenities and ensuring passenger safety.

She said that for a long time, residents of Manwal and adjoining areas had been demanding improved pedestrian facilities at the railway station. The approval of this important infrastructure project will address a genuine public need and greatly reduce inconvenience faced by passengers while crossing railway tracks.

The MLA conveyed her sincere thanks to the Hon’ble Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Ministry of Railways, Northern Railway authorities, and the Divisional Railway Management for their positive response to the aspirations of the people of the region. She remarked that the decision demonstrates the Government's focus on inclusive development and the modernization of railway facilities across the country.

Devyani Rana further stated that improved railway infrastructure plays a vital role in regional development, tourism promotion, and economic growth. She expressed confidence that the construction of the Foot Over Bridge will not only enhance safety standards but also improve the overall travel experience for passengers visiting and commuting through Manwal Railway Station.

She reaffirmed her commitment to continuously pursuing developmental initiatives for the Nagrota Assembly Constituency and working closely with various departments and ministries to ensure that the needs and aspirations of the people are addressed effectively.
