JAMMU: The Two- Day District Nodal Round of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament organised by MY Bharat NYKS in collaboration with GCW Parade concluded today at GCW Parade Jammu. The Valedictory program was graced by Ms Sunaina Mehta JKAS, Principal Revenue Training Institute Jammu and Sh. Ajay Sharma JKPS SP Jammu South. 50 participants were called for the event on the first day while remaining 40 participated on the second day.

The jury members of the program were Prof Dr Jigar Mohd Renowned Historian, Dr B B Anand Retd Principal Govt MAM College Jammu, Dr Muzammil Hussain Retd Principal GDC Reasi, and Ms Preeti Sharma leading young Women Entrepreneur, Adv Sunil Sharma President BAR Association Poonch and former Chairman Municipal Council Poonch.

Participants delved deeply into the topic One Nation One Election - Paving the Way for Viksit Bharat and shared their thoughts and ideas. The entire proceedings of the event were live streamed through social media handles.

Ms. Irtiqa Tariq secured first position in the event while Ms. Arshdeep Kour and Ms. Manya Pandoh were adjudged the second and third position respectively. A total of 10 toppers from the District Nodal Round will participate in the next UT level Round. While top three performers at the UT level will participate in the National Level Round.

The Chief Guest while expressing her appreciation for the event said that programs like these play an important role in connecting youth directly with governance process. She further said that through Youth Parliament, youth can present their ideas for Viksit Bharat and important topics like One Nation One Election. She further appreciated the work done by MY Bharat - NYKS under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and GCW Parade in providing platform to the youth. She congratulated the winners and appreciated other participants for their efforts.

Sh. Ajay Sharma JKPS, SP Jammu South while presenting his remarks noted that youth are the backbone of the nation and engaging youth in constructive work and nation building activities is of utmost importance. He highlighted the role of events like Youth Parliament in connecting youth directly with policy making and presenting ideas to the government. He wished good luck to the winners for the next UT Level Round.

The program was coordinated by the organising team chaired by Principal GCW Parade, Dr Ravinder K Tickoo, proceedings of the program was carried out by Dr Gurpreet Kour, NSS Program Officer of the college and Mr Nitin Hangloo, District Youth Officer, NYKS Jammu presented formal Vote of Thanks and apprised the young participants regarding MYBharat portal. 

Among other prominent people present in the program included, Dr Nitan Sharma Asst Professor Law School Jammu University, Sushil Singh Charak renowned Social Worker and Chief Functionary Nations Development Association (NDA), Pankaj Khajuria Sr. Journalist and Adv. Abheet Sangotra Member National Youth Advisory Council MY Bharat.
