GANDERBAL: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today launched a Mega Plantation Drive 2025 at the Mini Secretariat, Ganderbal, by planting a sapling under the theme of "Go Green Kashmir, Go Green Ganderbal." The event commenced with the administration of the Environmental Conservation Pledge, reaffirming the commitment of officers and participants toward environmental protection.

A flag-off ceremony marked the beginning of a series of initiatives aimed at environmental conservation, including mass plantation of saplings to restore barren and vacant lands, as well as the development of nurseries to support sustainable afforestation efforts.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC  emphasized the importance of collective efforts in preserving the environment, highlighting that environmental conservation is a valuable asset for future generations. He urged government departments, civil society, and citizens to actively participate in making Ganderbal clean and green. As part of the event, prizes were distributed among winners of drawing, speech, and write-up competitions organized to raise awareness about environmental conservation.
