JAMMU: Condemning attack on Republic TV news journalist Arnab Goswami and his wife while returning from his work place by some goons, alleged to be of Congress, BJP J&K Executive Member Raman Suri today said that such incidents speak of frustration on the part of those who are unable to take hard and truthful questions of good and credible journalists in India.
Raman Suri said that this is an attack on the freedom of press and on those journalists, who stand by the constitutional values of India. He said that still shocking was that these goons attacked a woman as well as tried to snub the voice of Independence of Press and Media. Seeking an unbiased probe into the attack, Raman Suri also sought severest of punishment for attackers as per the law of land, so that the forth pillar of democracy keeps its good work on without any fear and makes the truth reach people.
Raman Suri said that such cowardice attacks won't silence the voices of those, who are raising genuine yet uncomfortable questions and exposing the political parties which have been dividing nation on the lines of caste, creed, region and religion. He said that these alleged goons of Congress have established that the party is on its last leg and their puppets are resorting to hooliganism in order to restore existence of the disintegrating party.
The BJP leader said that unable to answer tough questions, posed by Arnab Goswami to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, over the lynching of two Sadhus and their driver in Maharashtra, goons were probably sent to attack him. He said, this is uncalled for and is totally unacceptable, that journalists, who are always worthy of respect, are being attacked in such a way with the motive of suppressing truth. This is highly condemned.
