JAMMU: Expressing his anger over the mob lynching of two Sadhus and their driver by a rowdy mob in Palghar area of Maharashtra and police's inability to save them, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri today said that this attack on Sadhu Samaj is highly painful and condemnable. The Maharashtra Government should give an explanation on this incident of violence.
Raman Suri said that more shocking was that cops on duty, instead of saving Sadhus and their driver, chose to walk away after handing over the three persons to mob who killed them with lathis. Condemning the incidence, Raman Suri said though Government claims to have arrested over one hundred people and started investigation, the same must be time bound to nail the guilty.
Not giving any communal colour to the incident, Raman Suri said that guilty must be brought to books. He said, the law must take its course and those found guilty should be given severe punishment as per law of the land. He also added, 'why are so called liberals maintaining criminal silence over the incident and not even condemning it'.
He said that these three persons were going to attend a funeral but were stopped in Palghar district by the mob, which dragged them out of their car and taking the law in their hands, ultimately beaten them to death. The deceased were identified as Chikne Maharaj Kalpavrukshagiri (70), Sushilgiri Maharaj (35), and their car driver Nilesh Telgade (30).
