JAMMU: Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of J&K National Panthers Party has urged Shri Ramnath Kovind, the President of India to convene an urgent meeting of representatives of all recognized political parties in J&K and that of national parties actively present in J&K. Prof.Bhim Singh said that he is urging the President because J&K is under Presidentâs Rule and the State Assembly stands dissolved.
However, political parties of J&K including National Conference, PDP and J&K National Panthers Party are recognized and working in J&K. The Presidentâs Rule is being run by electronic media, police stalwarts and a few bureaucrats who have no idea about political situation and need of the hour to take people in J&K in confidence. Political behaviour cannot be disciplined by policemen or by bureaucrats.
J&K needs an urgent and collective approach to reach the angry people who have been facing the heat of the situation caused by the legislation of the Parliament last week vis-Ă -vis Article 35-A, Article 370 and further demolishing the statehood of entire State of Jammu and Kashmir which was founded by first Dogra Maharaja Gulab Singh in 1846. The anger/wrath of the people of Kashmir and Jammu province has also arisen high because 200 years old statehood of the State of J&K has been pulled down by the Parliament converting State into two separate Union Territories.
In Ladakh, the situation is different because mostly people of Ladakh region has reconciled with the change as they had been demanding Union Territory since long. This conversion of Jammu and Kashmr into a Union Territory has been taken as unexpected shock and the people both in Kashmir Valley and Jammu province have not reconciled with this situation.
Prof.Bhim Singh appreciated Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi for admitting in public that this status of Jammu-Kashmir shall be reversed soon. The people of the Valley nor that of Jammu have digested this kind of treatment when 200 years old state has been demolished in one stroke by the Parliament. Article 370 was temporary and there was no reason to continue this temporary provision causing hassle for the people of J&K. There are many other issues which need to be resolved. The media has been announcing changes and end of Article 370. The fact is Article 370 still continues.
The main question is which the government must clarify, if three subjects, Defence, Foreign Affairs, Communications etc. which the Parliament had let on the advice of the State of J&K for legislation could now be handled directly by the Parliament.
Prof.Bhim Singh accused the State Govt./administration in J&K for detaining the Panthers Party leaders in J&K. NPP Supremo said that Chairman of Panthers Party Mr. Harsh Dev Singh, Ex-Education Minister and the President of Panthers Party Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia and most of the office bearers in Kashmir have been kept under house arrest which cannot be digested by any stretch of imagination.
He has demanded immediate withdrawal of police seizure of the residence of the Panthers Party leaders both in Jammu and also in Kashmir. He has also demanded the release of all Kashmiries arrested and detained in Agra and other jails. He challenged those who are claiming that there is all peace in J&K. He urged the President of India to intervene without any delay and direct the government to declare that Jammu, Kashmir (except Ladakh) shall not be deprived of statehood. He also demanded immediate release of all the prisoners detained in J&K during this crises.
