SRINAGAR: In response to Omar Abdullah's 'separate PM and President' remark on Monday over BJP's claims of abrogating Article 370 and 35A, the BJP entrant cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir took upon twitter and said National Conference leader saying he needs a 'green Pakistani passport'. In a tweet the BJP leader said former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir said that if Omar Abdullah wants a 'separate PM for Jammu and Kashmir' then 'I want to walk on oceans and pigs to fly.'
Gambhir further said stated that the Abdullah scion needs 'some sleep and a strong coffee' and if he still fails to understand then he needs a 'green Pakistan passport'. Meanwhile Omar Abdullah Hitting out at Gautam Gambhir, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said the former cricketer should stick to tweeting about IPL as he does not know much about J&K.
'Gautam, I never played much cricket because I knew I wasnât very good at it. You donât know very much about J&K, itâs history or the role of @jknc_ in shaping that history yet you insist on displaying that ignorance for all to see. Stick to stuff you know about, tweet about the IPL,â Mr Abdullah, who is the National Conference (NC) vice-president, wrote on micro-blogging site twitter. Later on, Monday, while addressing a rally in Telangana, PM Modi too lambasted Abdullah for his statement and further pulled in the allies of NC and members of the Mahagatbandhan over the statement.
He said, "There was news going in media, and it is a grave issue. An ally of Congress, a member of Mahagatbandhan, a supporter of Mahagatbandhan, National Conference. Farooq Abdullah's son, Omar Abdullah, the NC has given a statement that in Kashmir there should be a different Prime Minister." While addressing NC workers in Bandipora, Abdullah's statement came in response to the claims of BJP bigwigs of abrogating Article 370 and 35A from Kashmir to resolve its issue.
He said, "Modi said in an interview that by 2020, we will repeal article 35A. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had threatened us that Article 35a and Article 370 will be removed, but Jammu and Kashmir is not like the other states. Other states became a part of India without any conditions. We made conditions. We did not come for free." "To maintain our identity distinct, we entered certain things in the Constitution. We said our identity would be ours, we will have our own law, our own flag. At that time we also had our President and Prime Minister, and we will bring that back," he added.
