NEW DELHI: Dr. V. Venugopal Reddy, the Senior Regional Director, IGNOU has been appointed as Director, Regional Services Division, Indira Gandhi National Open University for a tenure of three years i.e., from May 2015 to May 2018. Dr. Reddy has been working with this university since February 1987. He has a varied experience in the design and development of Courses and programmes as well as delivery of Student Support Services.
The RSD which he is heading now has a mandate to operationalize the Regional Centres, Study Centres and Student Support Services of the University across the length and breadth of the country. The RSD has a vast network of Regional Centres and Learner Study Centres to deliver academic programmes to support distance learners and other stake holders. He is very much involved in training/orienting functionaries and faculty involved in the Student Support across Regional Centres and Study Centres.
Dr. Reddy has worked in different capacities in the University as: Faculty, Assistant Director, Deputy Director, Regional Director and Director, Research Unit in the past. He has published a few books and number of research papers in journals/edited books on the areas of Open and Distance Learning. He has also presented number of research papers in national and international conferences. He is very much involved in the corporate affairs of the University as Member of Board of Management, Member of Academic Council, and Member of Student Support Committee.
