SRINAGAR: Mr Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, Chairman Peace Foundation has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate for his outstanding contribution for Peace, Education and upliftment of the underprivileged classes in Jammu & Kashmir since the last 28 years.

He has also been awarded for his selfless works and has received the following awards:

  1. Jawaharlal Lal Nehru Peace Award in 2002.
  1. Best Nationalist Award by Former Deputy Prime Minister of India in 2003.
  1. Best Peace Activist Award by His Excellency Shri. S.K Sinha, Former Governor of Jammu And Kashmir State in March 2003.
  1. Best Peace Messenger Award By His Excellency S.K Sinha, Former Governor of Jammu And Kashmir State In 2004.
  1. Sadbhavana Ke Sipahi Award by Mr. Sunil Dutt in 2004 for the Service of Widows and Orphans.
  1. Mahatma Gandhi Peace Medal Award By A.B.R.S. in 2004 by Nirmala Desh Pandey (Didi Ji) President of A.B.R.S.
  1. Indo- Pak Friend Ship Award in 2004.
