POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal chaired a meeting of the District level Narco Coordination Committee (NCORD) to review and strengthen the anti-drug measures in the District. The DC directed revenue authorities to identify suitable land for the construction of a Drug De-Addiction Centre, emphasizing the need for a permanent facility to support rehabilitation and counseling.
Instructions were also issued to intensify the district wide drug de-addiction campaign. âAll the departments involved in anti-drug activities should share their reports to the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO), who will upload the data on the designated portal for centralized monitoring,â the DC ordered.
Further, orders were issued to the DFO and concerned Tehsildars to initiate destruction of cannabis, enforce mandatory installation of CCTV cameras and computerization of sale records by the chemist shops.
The SSP provided an overview of the enforcement measures and called upon all departments to synergize efforts to eradicate the menace of drug-abuse in the district. Among others, the meeting was attended by ACR, ACP, DSWO, CID officials, Tehsildars and representatives from various departments.
