POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal convened a meeting today to assess the implementation of the PM Vishwakarma scheme in the district. This initiative focuses on providing essential training, modern tools, and market linkages to empower artisans. During the meeting, General Manager of the District Industries Centre, Khalid Hussain Wafa, provided a comprehensive overview of the scheme, detailing its eligibility criteria, objectives, recognition processes, skilling opportunities, credit support, and marketing assistance available for beneficiaries.
The Deputy Commissioner inquired about the approval status of applications under the Vishwakarma Scheme and urged officers to expedite the processing of applications to ensure timely benefits for the community. He stressed the importance of prompt action in clearing any outstanding applications across various trades.
The Deputy Commissioner also took the opportunity to meet with beneficiaries, commending them for successfully completing their training sessions in different trades. He encouraged them to leverage the benefits of their training and to motivate more artisans to register for the scheme to maximize its impact.
The meeting was attended by PO ICDS, General Manager DIC, ACR, ACP, LDM, Principal Polytechnic College Poonch, CEO Municipality Poonch, Superintendent ITI Poonch, SKT. BDO Poonch, besides other concerned officers were present.
