RAMBAN: An official team today conducted a surprise market check in Gool Main Market, here today. The inspection led by Tehsildar Gool Harjeet Singh and accompanied by local TSO, Sham Singh, NT, and police officers, aimed to ensure quality control, price regulation, and to keep a vigil on erring traders.
During the inspection, the team found several shopkeepers violating legal regulations and recovered a fine of Rs. 15,000 from the offenders. The checking team seized several items that did not meet the quality standards.
The Tehsildar urged the shopkeepers to adhere to the legal regulations and maintain quality standards, failing which strict action would be taken. The market checking was conducted to protect the interests of consumers and to ensure a fair trade practice in the area.
