RAMBAN: In a significant move towards ensuring safer roads and responsible driving, the District Administration Ramban, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, today organized a Road Safety Awareness cum Orientation Programme here in the Community Hall.
The event was organised by the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) led by ARTO Kuldeep Singh, in collaboration with the Traffic Police Department. Deputy SP Traffic Sajjad Khan and representatives of the Transport Association, drivers, conductors, and other stakeholders actively participated in the programme.
The event focused on sensitizing the transport fraternity about critical road safety protocols, traffic regulations, and preventive measures to reduce accidents. Emphasis was laid on the importance of regular vehicle maintenance, adherence to speed limits, avoidance of overloading and the role of drivers and conductors in safeguarding passenger lives.
Speaking at the event, officials highlighted the significance of building a culture of road discipline and shared responsibility. The initiative reflected the district’s proactive approach to minimize road mishaps and instill a sense of accountability among road users. The District Administration plans to conduct similar awareness drives across the district in the coming weeks to widen outreach and public engagement.
