POONCH: The District Health Society Poonch, in collaboration with Smile Train Cleft Centre, Nowpora, Srinagar, under Rashtri Bal Swasthay Karkaram (RBSK) organized a one-day free awareness and screening camp for Cleft Lip and Palate Patients at District early intervention Centre (DEIC) Poonch. The camp was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary.

CMO Poonch, Dr. Zulafkar Ahmed, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Nusrat Ul Nissa Bhatti Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital Poonch were also present on the occasion.  The camp aims to provide free consultations, surgeries, and treatments to children born with cleft lip and palate deformities. The initiative seeks to improve the health and well-being of these children, enabling them to lead normal lives.

The camp provided a platform for parents and caregivers to seek expert advice and treatment for their children's cleft conditions. The District Health Society Poonch and Smile Train Cleft Centre are committed to providing quality healthcare services to the underprivileged sections of society said Chief Medical Officer Poonch, Dr. Zulfqar Ahmed, he said around 32 children were benefited from this camp.
