• Awareness camp to sensitize chemists about NCORD directives also held

ANANTNAG: An awareness camp was today conducted at Kapran, Verinag by Drug Control Organization Anantnag to sensitize chemists about NCORD directives. On the occasion, Assistant Controller Drugs and Drug Control Officers deliberated on varied topics like role and responsibilities of pharmacists, legal aspects and self audit/inspections.

During the program the chemists were sensitized about NCORD directives, and emphasis was laid to keep proper dispensing records of psychotropic drugs & other drugs under schedule H1 category.

Earlier team of Drug Control Officers of District Anantnag conducted various inspections of the  Drugs sale establishments in the area, and operation of two establishments namely Krishna medical store and new Javeed medical agency Verinag was disallowed for keeping and selling the abortifacient drugs in contravention to the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and conditions of licenses.

A complaint under Drugs and Cosmetics Act has also been lodged before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Anantnag by DCO Anantnag against Javeed Ahmad nickname Java of Hussanpora Bagh Bijbehara for keeping and selling addictive drugs in violation to provisions of Law.
