ANANTNAG: The Drug Control Officer Anantnag has closed down the operation of a medical store at Sirhama Bijbehara till further orders for violating the conditions of licenses and for overwriting the prescription of a medical officer PHC Sirhama.

On receiving complaint from PHC Sirhama regarding the unethical practices by Rather medicate Sirhama, Drug Control authority Anantnag acted promptly and raided the medical store of Naseer Ahmad Rather at opp PHC Sirhama.

During investigation and after checking the CCTV surveillance system of the medical store, it has been established that the licensee has violated the prescription norms. Records of various medicines which are prone to addiction and those which have been prescribed/ injected unethically to the patient have been demanded for further course of action under Law.

The Drug Control officer also inspected the Drug Store of PHC Sirhama and requested the health care professionals posted in the facility to share such incidents, if any, with the drug control authority mainly in the interest of patient care.
