POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting to review the progress of the projects taken up under the Integrated Watershed Management Program (IWMP). The Project Officer (PO) IWMP presented an overview of the IWMP status, highlighting the evolution of watershed development programs, the management of natural resources, and various initiatives including construction of harvesting tanks, Amrit Sarovar, Bowli, irrigation canals, and vermicomposting. Financial status related to these projects was also discussed.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of preparing a GIS-based water management framework to enhance coordination with other departments. He urged the concerned officers to expedite the completion of all ongoing projects to ensure that their benefits reach the general public promptly.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner directed the PO IWMP to provide geotagged photographs of all completed and ongoing works to his office, reinforcing the commitment to transparency and accountability in the execution of these essential projects. The meeting was attended by ACD, ACP, DFO, CPO, PO IWMP, CAO, Xen Jal Shakti, Xen FC and Irrigation, Account Officer besides other concerned.
