KHOUR: The Shri Guru Ravidas Sabha Khour celebrated the 648th Prakash Utsav of Sant Shiromani Shri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj with great devotion and fervour at the Gurudwara Shri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj in Khour. The event witnessed the participation of a large number of devotees and prominent personalities from the region.

Darshan Loach, Director Finance, graced the occasion as the chief guest. While addressing the gathering, he emphasized the importance of unity and education, reflecting on the timeless teachings of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj. Stressing the significance of community development, Loach announced a generous donation of Rs 50,000 to establish a library in the Gurudwara premises, promoting education among the community.

Pathi Santosh Ji delivered spiritual sermons, inspiring the Sangat to follow the principles of unity, compassion, and education as taught by Guru Ji. Sham Lal Basson, President of the All J&K Dalit Chetna Manch and ex-corporator, highlighted the relevance of Guru Ji’s teachings in addressing modern-day challenges like drug addiction.

Quoting Guru Ji's words, “Ravidas Madira Kya Pijiye, Jo Chadha Chadhe Utraye. Naam Maharas Pijiye Jo Chadhe Nahi Utraye,” he encouraged the audience to seek spiritual enlightenment and stressed the transformative power of education.

The event also saw speeches from distinguished guests, including Er. Ramesh Bhasin, Convenor of the Adhoc Committee of All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha (Regd.), Prof. Chaman Lal Shivgotra, Darshan Lal Kalsotra (Chairman Election Board), and Er. Surinder Devgowda (Retired Xen). Students who performed bhajans and delivered speeches were honored for their contributions.

A special appeal was made by Er. R.C. Bhasin, Convenor, to branch presidents and prominent members to attend the General Body Meeting of All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha (Regd.), scheduled for March 23, 2023, at Krishna Nagar, Jammu.

The celebrations concluded with the honoring of various dignitaries and contributors, including Darshan Loach, Er. R.C. Bhasin, Des Raj Sangral, Pt Ashok Kumar, Girdhari Lal retd ZEO, Ramesh Chander, Raj Kumar, Bansi Lal Babu Ram, Madan Lal, Jagatter Lal, Pawan Kumar, Mohan Lal, Ganesh Dass, Kali Dass, Ramesh Chander and other prominent personalities. Ladies sewadars played an integral role in managing the Sangat and serving langar during the event.

Vikram Singh, President of Shri Guru Ravidas Sabha Khour, extended a heartfelt vote of thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the event. Ravi Kumar, General Secretary, efficiently conducted the stage proceedings. The celebration was a true reflection of the values and teachings of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, inspiring devotees to embrace unity, education, and social harmony in their lives.
