BANDIPORA: District Hospital Bandipora today observed World Tuberculosis Day with a focus on raising awareness about the prevention and treatment of the disease. The event was attended by medical professionals, health workers, and members of the public.
Speaking on the occasion, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Bandipora, Dr. Masrat Iqbal Wani, emphasized the importance of collective efforts in eradicating TB from the region. He highlighted that World TB Day serves as a reminder to strengthen the fight against this infectious disease and encouraged the public to come forward for early diagnosis and treatment.
“We seek the cooperation of the general public to make Bandipora TB-free. Awareness and timely intervention are crucial in achieving this goal,” Dr. Wani said. The event included interactive sessions where health experts educated attendees about the symptoms, causes, and preventive measures for TB. They urged people to avail of free diagnostic and treatment services available at government health centers. World TB Day is observed annually on March 24 to raise awareness and accelerate efforts toward eliminating tuberculosis globally.
