KULGAM, SOPORE: Continuing its sustained efforts to bring absconders to justice, Police have arrested three absconders in Kulgam & Sopore who were evading their arrest for years. The arrested individual has been identified as Mohd Aslam Hajam son of Siraj-ud-Din Hajam resident of Dalwas Nashri, Batote, who was wanted in case FIR No. 138/2004 under sections 15/18 of the NDPS Act of Police Station Qazigund.
Meanwhile Police in Sopore have arrested two absconders who have been evading arrest for years in separate cases. One of the absconder, Mohammad Yousuf Sheikh son of Noor Mohammad Sheikh resident of Khawajabagh Baramulla, was wanted in Case FIR No. 327/2006 under Sections 366, 376, and 109 RPC of Police Station Sopore.
The accused had been on the run since 2018. The second absconder, Nissar Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad Afzal Mir resident of Khahmoh Rafiabad was wanted in case FIR No. 12/2010 under sections 363, 376, and 109 RPC of Police Station Panzalla. He had been absconding since 2015. After completion of legal formalities, both accused will be produced before the Hon’ble Courts of competent jurisdiction. J&K Police is committed to intensifying its drive against absconders and ensuring that all those evading law are brought to justice.
