• Sat Sharma, Baldev Billawaria join devotees in massive Chhath Puja celebration at Dagiana

JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir President and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Sat Sharma (CA), along with BJP General Secretary Baldev Singh Billawaria and other senior leaders of the party, participated in the grand Chhath Puja celebrations held at Dagiana.

The event witnessed the participation of thousands of enthusiastic devotees who gathered on the banks of D-Canal Shastri Nagar, to offer Arghya to the setting sun and pray for peace, prosperity, and harmony. The religious ceremony, marked by deep devotion and traditional fervour, reflected the vibrant cultural unity of Jammu, where people from different walks of life came together to celebrate the ancient festival.

Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Jammu & Kashmir on the occasion of Chhath Puja. He said that Chhath Puja is not just a festival but a symbol of purity, discipline, and deep faith. He said that this festival showcases the rich spiritual heritage of our nation and promotes environmental consciousness by connecting us with nature. He praised the inspiring devotion and discipline of the devotees.

Sat Sharma further added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s cultural and religious traditions are being honoured and promoted globally. He said that the Modi government believes in the principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,’ ensuring respect and equal opportunities for every community and faith. Festivals like Chhath Puja strengthen our collective resolve for a united and harmonious society, Sat Sharma added.

Speaking on the occasion, Baldev Singh Billawaria praised the organisers for their commendable arrangements and the devotees for their exemplary discipline. He said that Chhath Mata blesses those who follow the path of purity and service. He said that such festivals foster social harmony and remind us of our duty to care for the environment and each other. He also reiterated the BJP’s commitment to preserving India’s cultural values and traditions.

Prominent among those present included J&K BJP Vice-President Rekha Mahajan, Vinay Gupta, Narinder Gupta Koki, Bharat Bhushan, and several other senior leaders and activists who joined the devotees in offering prayers.
