AWANTIPORA, BUDGAM: As part of the ongoing celebrations of Police Flag Day Week, Police have organised “Run for Unity” events in Awantipora and Budgam. In Awantipora, more than 100 participants from different age groups and areas of Sub-Division Pampore took part in the run with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The event commenced from Khrew Chowk and concluded at Sharshali Chowk. During the flag-off ceremony, the officers interacting with participants highlighted that the “Run for Unity” was organised in honour of Police Martyrs, to commemorate their courage, valour, and supreme sacrifices made for safeguarding the unity and integrity of the nation and for protecting the lives and property of the people. During the closing ceremony, the first three winners were presented mementos and   appreciation certificates. On the occasion, SDPO Pampore Shri RP Singh, SHO Police Station Khrew, and other police officers were present.

In Budgam, ‘Run for Unity’ was organised from Lucent’s International School, Magam to Chichlora Crossing to pay tribute to the police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty for the nation’s peace and security. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various schools in the Magam area, who displayed exceptional energy, team spirit, and sportsmanship. Police officers from Police Station Magam, along with school staff and local citizens, also attended the event.

At the conclusion, trophies and certificates were distributed among the winners and runners-up. The participants and school staff lauded the efforts of J&K Police for organizing such meaningful events, reaffirming the commitment to honor and remember the supreme sacrifices of police martyrs.
