REASI: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Nidhi Malik today chaired a meeting to review the assessment reports of damages to public infrastructure during the August flash floods and landslides in the district.
The meeting held detailed deliberations on the extent of damage caused to roads, bridges, government buildings, water supply schemes, power infrastructure and other essential public assets.
The concerned departments presented consolidated reports along with photographic evidence and briefed the DC on site-specific assessments, the status of ongoing restoration works and immediate requirements for repair.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the condition of roads and discussed the underlying reasons for recurring damage during natural calamities, stressing the need for resilient infrastructure and strict adherence to quality standards in construction.
Further, the meeting featured discussions on fund projections submitted by various departments for restoration works. DC Nidhi Malik informed that SDRF assistance will be sanctioned and assured that sufficient funds will be allocated soon to support critical restoration activities across affected areas. ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, CPO Narinder Kumar, SE PWD and PMGSY, PO POSHAN, ACR and other concerned officers were present.
