- Stresses on 100% farmer coverage, Inter-Departmental coordination
POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a meeting to assess the implementation and ground impact of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) on development of Agriculture and allied sectors.
The meeting aimed at strengthening coordination among departments and ensuring the timely and effective execution of government initiatives designed to uplift the farming community.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, District Sericulture Officer, Assistant Director Fisheries, Assistant Floriculture Officer, Area Grading and Marketing Officer and the District Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Poonch.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the targets, achievements, and existing gaps. He directed the concerned officers to intensify field efforts, bridge gaps and ensure maximum coverage of eligible farmers.
Officers from allied departments presented updates on progress made under HADP, highlighting initiatives aimed at increasing productivity, value addition. A detailed review was conducted to assess the ground impact of the programme on the development of Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture, fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and sericulture.
The DC reviewed the status of sericulture activities, including mulberry cultivation and silk rearing, and directed officers to enhance local production of peanuts, Rajmash, milk and other high-value crops. He urged departments to encourage farmers to establish poultry farms, dairy units and fish ponds to strengthen their livelihood and income base.
He instructed all officers to achieve 100% targets under Soil Health Card, Kissan Sathi and other government initiatives, while ensuring timely updates on the DAKSH portal for effective monitoring and transparency.
