BUDGAM: As part of the ongoing efforts under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme, a voter awareness rally was today organised by District administration in collaboration with CEO Budgam and information & PR Budgam. The rally aimed to spread awareness among the general public, especially the youth, about the importance of voting and active participation in the democratic process.
The event was flagged off from Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Humhama, where students, teachers, and staff members participated enthusiastically, carrying placards and chanting slogans promoting ethical and informed voting. The rally passed through the main streets of Humhama, drawing attention and engagement from the local community.
On the occasion, District Information Officer (DIO) Budgam, Erum Khan and Principal GHSS Humhama, Shabir Hussain, addressed the gathering and spoke about the power of the vote and the responsibility of every citizen to participate in elections.
They highlighted that voting is not only a constitutional right but also a fundamental duty that shapes the future of the nation. They urged students to act as ambassadors of voter awareness by encouraging their families and communities to register and vote responsibly. The event reflected the collective commitment of the District Administration Budgam towards ensuring inclusive, ethical, and informed participation in the electoral process.
